A zine, or fanzine, is an independently published "magazine" that is a collection of creative work. You can think of it as an anthology centering one theme, with different creators submitting their works.How does a zine work?
Zines will first begin with an interest check to gauge how ambitious (eg physical, digital, physical with merch? etc.) the zine can be. After the interest check, we will hold moderator applications to fill any roles we may need to bring the zine into reality; once mod applications wrap up, we will be having contributor applications for those who would like to create content for the zine. The zine will then enter creation phase, where contributors will be given time to complete their respective pieces, and once everything is ready, we will hold pre-orders, enter production, ship pre-orders out, then hold leftover sales before wrapping up the zine.Will this zine be physical or digital?
In the very least, the zine will have a digital version (PDF). Whether or not the zine will have a physical release will be dependent on the interest check.What does 「星」に願いを mean in the zine's title?
「星」に願いを is the final quest name in Themis's quest line in Japanese at the end of Pandaemonium. Translated, it says "To wish upon a 'star.'" While "The Seat of Sacrifice" is a nod to Elidibus, 「星」に願いを is a nod to Themis.Will Themis/WoL ships be allowed?
As a character-centric zine that celebrates Themis, Themis/WoL pairings will NOT be permitted IN THE ZINE ITSELF. This rule will be strictly enforced by the moderator team. While the mod team celebrates creativity and shares your love with Themis, we would like this zine to be relatable to everybody; unfortunately, a unique character in a relationship with Themis will make that difficult.However, the mod team acknowledges that there are themis/wol shippers out there! To that end, we will consider doing a ych limited commission bundle that features your wol with themis; the bundle will include the zine, zine merch, and the ych commission merch. The commission will NOT be in the zine book itself; it is a separate illustration outside of the book. This will be the only area of exception for themis/WoL for the project.Is my WoL/Azem allowed if they are a background element or off-screen?
No, any indication of a personal WoL or Azem is not permitted in the zine. If a WoL/Azem is present, Meteor will be used (please see the following question)If my WoL/Azem isn't allowed, then is Meteor acceptable?
Yes, Meteor is acceptable; however, we would like to keep the zine platonic.Are other characters okay to be in artworks and stories for the zine?
Yes! As long as Themis is in the forefront of the piece, then other characters are more than welcome. Exploring Themis's relationships with other characters is, indeed, also part of the zine.Will Gpose or screenshots be permitted within the zine? How about AI artwork or similar?
No, gpose and/or screenshots will not be permitted. Likewise, AI artwork is NOT permitted.Will NSFW be allowed?
NSFW will not be allowed. This zine will be SFW.What sort of AUs do you have in mind?
Really anything you could think of! The mod team is open to AUs but will approve of ideas and pitches on a case-by-case basis.Is the zine for profit or for charity?
The zine will be donating to two charities at the end of the project: Doctors Without Borders and World Wildlife Fund.How will I know where proceeds go?
Because this zine operates on pre-orders, it's important that we recognize that there is a mutual relationship of trust between you, the customer, and us, the organizers. To that end, we value transparency and will be releasing a public finance sheet detailing costs and the donation. Contributors will also have access to the vendors list and the current state of finances during production period.What will contributors receive as compensation?
In the very least, the contributors will receive a full digital bundle (PDF with emotes and icons). The zine will aim to compensate all contributors with a full, physical bundle free of charge. However, this will largely depend on interest check and pre-orders. Should the zine be unable to compensate contributors with a free bundle, then the mod team will provide a discount for contributors.Do Contributors need to create new works for the zine?
Yes, all creative works for the project must be new and original to the zine. Previously posted or published works will not be allowed. Unpublished works may be submitted during pitches, but will be subject to approval by the Mod Team.Are Contributors allowed to post/sell their pieces after the zine is completed?
Contributors will retain all rights to their creative works. They may post or sell their works after, and only after, the zine project is completed. Doing otherwise while the zine is ongoing will result in your piece being pulled from the project.I have a question! How do I contact the organizers?
